the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) released the admit cards for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for Class 9 and Class 11 Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST). Students who have registered for these exams can now download their admit cards from the official NVS.

How to Download the Admit Card:

 

  1. On the homepage, find and click on the link for the Class 9 or Class 11 LEST admit card.
  2. Enter your registration number and date of birth in the required fields.
  3. Click the ‘Submit’ button.
  4. Your admit card will appear on the screen.
  5. Download and print the admit card for future use.

The JNVST for Class 9 and Class 11 is scheduled for February 8, 2025.

The exam will be conducted in both English and Hindi. The Class 11 selection test will last for two and a half hours, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and will include five sections with objective-type questions, totaling 100 questions for 100 marks. The Class 9 selection test will also have a duration of two and a half hours and will cover subjects such as Mathematics, General Science, English, and Hindi, with the difficulty level corresponding to Class VIII.

It’s important to note that the selection test is conducted only for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) with available vacancies. Candidates should refer to the list of tentative vacancy details provided at the end of the official prospectus.

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme aims to establish one JNV in each district across India. Currently, 653 JNVs are operational in 27 states and 8 union territories, excluding Tamil Nadu.

These schools provide quality education to talented students, predominantly from rural areas, and are known for their excellent academic performance and holistic development programs.

Important Dates:

  • Admit Card Release Date: January 9, 2025
  • Examination Date: February 8, 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For Class 9 Admission: Candidates must be bona fide residents and should have passed the Class 8 examination from a government or government-recognized school in the district where the JNV is located and where admission is sought.
  • For Class 11 Admission: Candidates must be bona fide residents and should have passed the Class 10 examination from a government or government-recognized school in the district where the JNV is located and where admission is sought.

Candidates are advised to verify all the details mentioned on the admit card, including their name, photograph, examination center, and timings. In case of any discrepancies, they should immediately contact the NVS authorities for rectification.

On the day of the examination, candidates must carry the printed admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the examination center. Without the admit card, entry to the examination hall will not be permitted. Additionally, candidates should adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the authorities, which may include wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and using hand sanitizers.
